Only 20 Puerto Rican boxers have held a World Boxing Council World Title / WBC.  Since 1985 to 1990 outside Felix Trinidad defeating Oscar De La Hoya in an IBF World Welterweight / WBC World Welterweight unification fight in 1999, a title which Trinidad later vacated. No Puerto Rican boxer truly held a WBC World title until Danny Garcia defeated Erik Morales by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBC Super Light Welterweight title in 2012.
In reality Puerto Rican Boxers gained more titles due to the WBA from 1985 onwards only Carlos De Leon won a WBC World Title that being the WBC World Cruiserweight Champion.

This list was composed in 2011 and it's been updated by me since February 2012. Other lists seen on various online sites have been either copy and pasted and translated into Spanish or other languages. 

thought of the idea of creating the list around 2010. Began the creation of the list mid 2011 due to the amount of myths and misinformation that was being spread throughout the social media and online boxing sites.
